1955 Porsche 550A Spyder Replica
This 1955 Porsche 550A replica was built in 2016 by Seduction Motorsports in Chandler, Arizona and is powered by a 2,054cc VW Type 1 engine built by CB Performance. This example is being auctioned to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by the seller, who is the owner of Seduction Motorsports and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 16. The 1,350 pound car has been driven under 500 miles and is equipped with a custom 4-speed manual gearbox, adjustable suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes. The Nardo Grey fiberglass body is paired with black alcantara interior and sits on a hand-built tubular chassis. The car is registered in Arizona as a 1955 PORSC-SPCON and is being sold with full build documentation on a clean Arizona title.
The Nardo Grey non-metallic paint provides a nice contrast to the black trim and interior. The yellow number plates located on both doors are vinyl and can be removed if desired. The hand laid fiberglass body was constructed in the US and is bonded to the chassis. An aluminum floor is bonded and bolted to the underside.
The light bezels, engine grilles, and remaining exterior trim are powder coated in Hyper Gloss Black as part of Seduction Motorsports Outlaw Package. The front grille has been shaved, the rear bonnet has custom louvers, and windshield wiper delete caps have been installed. A small plexiglass windscreen is fitted and shows no scratches or nicks. The headlights have been converted to H4 with 5k modern bulbs and have Porsche glass fluted headlight lenses.
The hand-built chassis was fabricated from US Grade DOM tubing using a precise jig. It was then welded by a fabrication team with a combined 80 years of manufacturing chassis for race teams. The tubing is powder coated in wrinkle black and has integrated jack points that are welded to the rear of the vehicle. The sides can also accommodate a jack thanks to the solid aluminum floor.
The brake system utilizes four-wheel discs with Seduction Motorsports -3AN braided brake lines that have a transparent black/smoke PTFE scratch-resistant coating and custom CNC machined billet aluminum front/rear brake reservoirs. The 15″ steel wheels were powder coated in Hyper Gloss Black then wrapped in new Sumitomo tires. Behind each wheel are spun aluminum disc brake covers that were painted to match the wheels. Zinc-plated studs are used to secure the wheels with zinc-plated Porsche lug nuts.
The interior features black alcantara upholstery with yellow double-diamond stitching on the heated seats. The door panels were hand-crafted by Unique Upholstery in Scottsdale, Arizona. Brushed aluminum can be found behind the door panels, and black carpeting appears clean and taut. An authentic Nardi wooden-rimmed steering wheel completes the look.
The car is equipped with aluminum pedal faces, an OMP aluminum shift knob, a Seduction Motorsports 304 grade stainless steel parking hand brake, and black anodized aluminum interior pieces.
The electrical system features a Seduction Motorsports weatherproof wire harness and weather-packed connectors. The car has a push-start ignition and comes with a dual USB charging station hidden under the dash. A lightweight race battery with Hella quick-disconnect switch is paired with a Seduction Motorsports pull lever on the dash that was CNC machined from billet aluminum.

A Wilwood hydraulic clutch slave cylinder has been installed and has a Ni-copper alloy clutch hardline and -3AN fittings. The roadster utilizes a Seduction Motorsports billet aluminum clutch fluid reservoir and a PBS cable shifter with internal shifting.
The car is suspended by RideTech Handling Quality adjustable dampening front shocks and adjustable dampening and adjustable ride height rear coilovers with HyperCo springs. The front suspension features a German dual adjustable front torsion beam, OEM Audi/Porsche German ball joint trailing arms that are powder coated black, and all 316 grade stainless steel hardware. The rear has tubular trailing arms and a Seduction Motorsports aluminum strut bar that are both powder coated in black, Kevlar lined bearings, and yellow chromate zinc-plated hardware. The torsion caps have been shaved. The entire suspension system has been engineered for complete adjustment, and is currently setup for less aggressive handling/street use.
A custom fuel tank is coated in Kevlar and a flush-mounted stainless/aluminum venter fuel cap is integrated to sit hidden under the hood. A small panel opens to a service area that gives access to the brake/clutch master cylinders, front suspension adjustability, the fuel pump and fuel filters, steering box, and horn. All of the build documentation for this car is included, and the seller notes that only new parts were used.
